Welcome to the Maths Village website. Here you can find out more about the EMF Maths Village, and see what we're planning for EMF 2026.

What Is The Maths Village?

The Maths Village is a village at Electromagnetic Field (EMF) run by a group of mathematicians and maths communicators from all over the UK - including researchers, authors, presenters, YouTubers and hobbyists.

This year, the Maths Village will once again be one of EMF's Workshop Villages, hosting workshops from the main programme alongside our own content.

What Happens At The Maths Village?

At previous EMFs, we have brought hands-on maths puzzles, free maths magazines, interactive gadgets and games, dome-building workshops, face painting and a MathsJam evening (turning the tent into a temporary pub for the evening).

We're also a place where any stray friendly mathematicians are welcome to join and camp - we'll have tea and coffee making facilities, and you can drop by and say hello anytime, or drop us an email with any questions (details below).

Like all other EMF villages, we follow the EMF Code of Conduct.

Join Us

If you're a maths fan already, or want to get into it (or back into it), you're welcome to join us to do some maths, and see what exciting stuff we've come up with this time. To join the Maths Village and camp with us, contact Katie Steckles (katie@mathsvilla.ge) and Matthew Scroggs (scroggs@mathsvilla.ge) and we can send more info.

We'll also be running plenty of drop-in activities and workshops over the weekend, so anyone is welcome to come by and do some maths!

See you at EMF!
